'Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete.' James 1:4 NCV
When we're going through difficult times, it can be hard to trust that God's working in us. The truth is, we are always closer to becoming the person God wants us to be than we think. By his grace, we'll make it through the trials we're facing and come out stronger and wiser. Paul says, 'If God is for us, who can be against us' (Romans 8:31 NIV)?
We can be tempted to give up, believing we'll not going to make it through to the other side. But, God is for us. That means we can do the things we're afraid to do. God can help us take down walls and barriers we've built up in our minds. He can set us free from fearful attitudes that have held us back for so long. He longs to release us to reach our full potential.
The Bible reminds us: 'Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and will have everything you need' (James 1:4 NCV). Often, the things we think are overcoming us are the things we end up overcoming and glorifying God through. They're the things that make us who we are. They grow us, strengthen us and encourage others. So, let's be patient; anything worthwhile is worth working for and waiting for.
So what now? As you wait for an answer or a breakthrough, ask God to help you wait while he works in you. Be kind to yourself as you wait, and thank God for his patience in you.
