A spiritual mindset
'...be transformed by the renewing of your mind...' Romans 12:2 NIV
Your mind is a bit like a computer; it responds to what's programmed into it. Having a spiritual mindset is like having top-notch anti-virus software installed. And you need to do the update 'day by day'.
Someone with an earthly mindset is wide open to all sorts of damaging influences. Without God's Spirit we tend to go back to the chaos we came from. Some people are in between; frustrated because one moment they're operating out of a spiritual mindset, the next out of an earthly one. They haven't learned to let the Holy Spirit do his work 'day by day'.
Important to remember: (1) A spiritual mindset gives you God's input. What an advantage! God can reveal to you why people act the way they do, He can help you sense trouble before it arrives. He can tell you when to speak up or get involved, and when not to! His Holy Spirit in your life God will help you in every situation. (2) A spiritual mindset gives you victory where you've known only defeat. This is especially helpful for those who struggle with addictive behaviours and are likely to be 'easily led'. That's why you need to allow him to flood your life day by day, to programme your mind correctly.
So what now? Never forget, with God we are renewed: '...Be transformed by the renewing of your mind...' (Romans 12:2 NIV); '...Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day' (2 Corinthians 4:16 NLT). Wise to keep updating your spiritual mindset!
