Jayraj Weighs In on Tim Lambesis Saga

Jayraj Unka from the Underground Show has been adding his two cents to the debate raging around former As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis, following recent comments Tim made relating to his faith and criminal charges.

In an article written for Parachute Music entitled 'Circle Pits and Hypocrites', Jayraj urges people - particularly former fans - to suppress their judgement of a man who is in such obvious need of help.

Jayraj writes: "Yes, he has done something wrong. He will do his time for this. He needs to deal with the consequences of his actions. But let's leave it at that. Let's not judge him anymore. Don't throw away his CDs or burn your T-Shirts. That's not going to help anyone. We should be praying for him. Praying that some amazing people gather around him and help him through this tough time."

The Tim Lambesis saga will be discussed further on The Forum at 9pm this Sunday night.

He also added that hit single 'More of You' (which we've been loving on Life FM) is going to be the opening track on the album.

Brian 'Head' Welch: "I'm not much different to Tim Lambesis"

Brian 'Head' Welch says that he relates to former frontman of Christian heavy metal band 'As I Lay Dying', Tim Lambesis, who has been jailed after attempting to hire a hitman to kill his wife.

Lambesis admitted in a recent interview that he was always an athiest, saying that he faked his faith in an attempt to exploit the Christian market and sell more records.

He added that the decision to pay someone to assassinate his wife was one clouded by his exorbitant use of steroids, though former band members say that it was "not completely out of character" for the vocalist.

Lambesis's fellow heavy rocker Brian 'Head' Welch, once part of the world-renowned metal band Korn, says he made a similar plot while high on cocaine.

However, he was put off the idea by a member of Korn's road crew and later became a Christian, forming his own band and touring as a speaker to advise youth against abusing drugs and alcohol.

"What if he [the road crew member] encouraged me to murder like the Tim Lambesis situation?" Welch pondered in an interview with radio.com. "What if, in my lowest, weakest moment, all messed up in the head on coke, I got led into agreeing on a down payment for a hit on my wife and her boyfriend?"

"I'm not much different than Tim," he continued. "I don't think any of us are. We are all capable of bad choices under the weight of heavy circumstances. Some people can handle more or less than others, but everyone has a certain breaking point — especially if there's other substances involved."

Lambesis was arrested in May last year and sentenced to six years imprisonment.

Parachute Music have just dropped a great video of Paper Cranes performing their single 'Runaway' in Mystery Creek's Old Hall.

The band were obviously taking some time out to play some tunes together during this year's Parachute Festival and, luckily for us, it was caught on camera.

The performance, which was recorded as part of Parachute Music's ongoing 'Field Sessions', has a wonderfully authentic, earthy feel to it - it's absolutely worth a watch. Check it out below!

The pop-rockers headed back into the studio just a few days ago for the first time since previous album 'Made'.

However, lead singer and guitarist Jonathan Steingard has remained tight-lipped about a potential release date.

"We can't really say much about it yet," he said, "but there's a bunch of stuff we're really excited about."

Check out the music video for their single Words (featuring Bart Millard of MercyMe) below.
